HEYYYYY!!! So I have a new favorite thing, and I just hadddd to share it with you guys!! It’s Copper Moon Coffee!! Copper Moon specializes mostly in roasting a hugeee variety of coffee types and flavors. Their coffee is grown all over the world, many kinds grown at high altitudes in tropical climates. For generations, they’ve been family owned and striving to produce as many responsibly sourced and uniquely flavored blends as possible. Luckily for me, they’ve recently branched out from just roasting and packaging the coffee to opening cafes and serving ready-made drinks, coffee shop style! Their flagship store is located in Lafayette, Indiana, where I just happened to have been traveling for work recently.

Now, I must be honest… I’m a Starbucks girl. I may or may not have had a small addiction to caramel Frappucinos in the past (lol jk.. Or am i??). Anywho, when I saw this coffee shop literally right across the street from a Starbucks, I didn’t really think twice about it. I compare literally every single frozen coffee beverage to caramel frappucinos, and usually they all let me down. Nevertheless, I keep trying new ones. One day I decided to venture into Copper Moon and boy am I glad I did! I ordered a salted caramel frappe since that was the closest thing I could find to what I’d order from Starbucks. It was sooo good! Dare I say, I think I liked it MORE than my beloved caramel frap! In addition to the great taste, I got it for half price thanks to their National Coffee Month promotion (half priced frappes from 2pm-4pm in the month of August)! Winningggggg!! Needless to say, I made more than one trip that week!

On my second trip, I decided to try a different flavor. I noticed that they had a vanilla & lavender frappe. I was iffy about trying it because I’ve never heard of anything being lavender flavored. I enjoy the scent of lavender, so I thought, “What the heck? Why not?” I was in a pretty rotten mood that day, but let me tell youuuuu!!! The lavender was the best choice I made that day! I played it safe and got the decaf version so I wouldn’t be up all night. The drink didn’t “taste” like lavender in a traditional sense of the word. It basically “tasted” like the smell of lavender.. Weird, I know. It was a total jumble of the senses haha. I felt like I was drinking something vanilla flavored in a lavender scented room. It was totally calming and changed my entire mood for the day! Definitely a must try!

While I absolutely loveeee Copper Moon, there areeee a couple of downsides. The first is the price point. I was somewhat shocked to see that the frappes were more expensive than their Starbucks equivalent. There’s only about a $1-2 difference, but if you’re a daily coffee drinker, that can add up. I’d say it’s worth the difference, but I don’t partake daily. The other disappointing thing is that there aren’t very many traditional coffee shop locations. Currently, the only stand-alone store is located in Lafayette. All other locations are located within Indianapolis International Airport (one in each terminal) and various medical centers/hospitals in Indy. I guess that’s nice if you’re already there, but not so convenient if you just want to grab a quick cup of joe on the way to work. I probably won’t go out of my way to stop in one of the more non-traditional locations, but I’ll definitely stop in if I just so happen to see one in the course of life!

Have you ever tried Copper Moon coffee? Leave a comment below and let me know which drinks you’ve tried (or would try)!

Omg I love that place. The iced lavender latte is uniquely amazing( now I’m on the hunt for lavender syrup/flavoring). No the price isn’t the best but the amazing customer service, and as a treat once a week made it worth it.

  2. the decaf coffee you discussed about, i have a question, i’m not sensitive to caffeine and i know it is for those who are sensitive…and i drink 4 cups of coffee a day. Do you think drinking decaf will have any side-effect because of a sudden caffeine withdrawal?
