So we’re really trying to kick it into to high gear this year with some really awesome content! For my first official video of the year, I’m going to be doing sort of a first impression and makeup look with the Morphe x James Charles eyeshadow palette. Yes, I am a little late to the party but better late than never right??? I actually purchased the palette when it went live on Ulta.com, but I watched sooooo many videos on how to properly use the palette that I got super intimated and didn’t touch it for a good while. I actually took that as a little lesson to myself to stop over preparing and just go for it cause I can clearly psych myself out.

So let’s go ahead and get into the palette. The Morphe x James Charles palette contains a mix of 39 super vibrant eyeshadows and pressed pigments for a grand total of $39!!! Yes, THIRTY-NINE AMERICAN DOLLARS!!! I personally think that’s a steal but hey who am I to speak? The top two rows contain your warm fiery shades like yellow, gold and red. Then you have a middle row with 7 larger eyeshadow pans that contain transition colors as well as a black and a white. Then the bottom two rows, which are my favorite, contain all of your vibrant colorful shades like green, blue, purple and pink. In all honesty, I purchased this palette off of those two bottom rows and that super fiery red in the second row. I just LOVE a colorful palette and I probably own one too many.

So for today’s look, I’m going to be creating a Christmas-y/holiday type look. I wasn’t sure when I’d be coming out with this video, but I really wanted to dig into that red so this is what we got. Check out the video above or the little pictorial below to see how I created this look.

As far as my thoughts on the James Charles palette, as of right now I love it. I didn’t have any trouble blending out any of the colors or getting them to show up. I heard a lot of people were having issues with the pressed pigments and I haven’t used them all, but the red works like a dream. I like that you can create a wide range of looks with this palette. If you aren’t a fan of super vibrant over the top looks you can easily create a variety of everyday eyeshadow looks. With this palette having so many colors and only being $39 I personally don’t see why you wouldn’t add it to your collection especially if you’re looking for a good one-stop shop palette.

Have you tried the new James Charles x Morphe palette? If so what did you think and which shade is your favorite?
