As you may know, by now we LOVE a good black owned apparel company, especially one that flaunts black culture. While browsing Instagram, per usual, I discovered a company called Izzy & Liv and they are EVERYTHING!!! Izzy & Liv specializes in creating items for black women that encourage us to confidently embrace who we are, all while taking us on a trip down memory lane. They have graphic tees that just about everyone can relate to from “Coming to America” references to asking to be “returned to Idris Elba if found”. I really can’t get enough of their site.

Founded by Nicole Brown, the purpose of Izzy & Liv is to create items with black women in the forefront by designing pieces that reflect our shared experiences, celebrated icons we love, and reinforce the empowering beauty we possess. But Izzy & Liv is much more than a clothing store, they also carry home decor, posters, mugs, notebooks and even have a subscription box filled with brown sugar goodness called the “Brown Sugar Box”. They carry items for all shades, shapes, sizes and even a few for our men.

I recently purchased two shirts from Izzy & Liv, one for myself and IHC member Kristin. I had to send my first shirt back to get a larger size, but the process was quick and super easy. They do suggest when purchasing graphic tees to go up a size depending on the cut, so make sure you check out their size chart before making a purchase. They carry sizes xs to 4xl and even have a measurement guide to ensure you’re measuring the right spot.

The quality of their shirts are amazing. I’ve accidentally thrown my shirt in the dryer a few times and it has yet to shrink or lose any stitching, so I take that as a win. Most of their shirts fall within the $20-$30 range, which can be a little pricey for a graphic tee, but if you subscribe to their Brown Sugar Box you’ll receive 5-6 Izzy & Liv exclusive items, a graphic tee AND bonus items from other black women-owned businesses every month for $40 (and no this isn’t a sponsored post I just think that’s a great deal lol). I plan to purchase more and I’ve been eyeing a few of their shower curtains that perfectly match my home decor.

Have you checked out If so what’s your favorite item? And if not what are you waiting for?
