Our Youtube fave, Alissa Ashley x NYX came together to give us the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation and Primer. This is a long wearing, water proof liquid foundation with a matte finish that is lightweight. The Matte Primer is creamy and leaves a smooth finish that is ready for foundation.
Primer First Impressions: The primer is creamy and I believe its a silicone base which I prefer. It definitely is matte! It dries quickly and has a bit of a tacky feel to it that probably helps keep the foundation in place. The product description claims that the formula doesn’t leave white cast on deeper complexions, but I found that to be false. It doesn’t really matter anyway because you will be applying the foundation on top.
Foundation First Impression: The foundation is definitely full coverage and I felt that it dries fairly quickly so you have to move fast when blending it out. I used a brush to apply it and I believe that it would probably be more effective to use a beauty sponge. The shade I tried was Walnut which is described as “deep deep with olive undertone”. I personally felt as though the shade was too dark but, I didn’t choose it in person and I only had to go off pictures of swatches. The foundation itself is lightweight and it did last several hours without budging. Its an amazing price point for only $15.
Would I buy it again?: I would say yes, I’d buy the foundation again for sure. I think it is a very great quality for the price and it gave the desired finish that I was looking for. I found the primer to be frustrating to use with my hands so I think that I will use it with a brush in the future. I do plan to do a follow-up review with a full wear test, so look out for that!
