Oh Happy Day!!!! I am absolutely THRILLED to be bringing you this post! Today’s post is an unboxing of my brand new Impressions Vanity Hollywood Glow Pro Vanity mirror!! I’ve wanted a big lighted vanity mirror for the longest, but I just wasn’t ready to commit to the cost of one! They. are. PRICEY! Fortunately for me, my mother loves me dearly and decided to buy me the vanity mirror of my dreams for Christmas! Thanks, mommy!!!

Soooo Many Mirrors

The hardest part of the process for me was deciding which mirror I wanted to get! There are so many different options to choose from. They have a plethora of lines, sizes, materials, shapes and upgrade options. In the end, I decided on the Hollywood Glow Pro mirror. It’s the biggest of the table top mirrors in the “Glow” line. There was one that was bigger, but it had to be mounted to the wall, and I wasn’t prepared to do that so, here we are lol. There is another similar mirror in the “Iconic” line, but the base was much wider (13 inches vs 8 inches) and I believe the mirror was encased in aluminum instead of wood. I was already worried enough that the mirror would take up too much space on the vanity top, so I wasn’t about to risk losing 5 more inches of space! Good choice, Self!

The larger mirrors are dimmable, which is GREAT for personalizing your atmosphere and adjusting for time of day. They also come with two three-prong outlets and two USB inputs on the side of the mirror. That’s definitely a game changer for me since I’m always killing my battery playing music while I do makeup! It’s also helpful for people who want to sit and do their hair in front of the mirror. You can plug in all of your hot tools right there, no extension cord needed!

Upgrades

There are a couple of upgrades offered for the larger table top vanity mirrors. The first upgrade option is for the lightbulbs. The default option is warm white incandescent bulbs. If you don’t know about light temperatures, warm white is a more yellow light. The upgrade options for bulbs were both cool white (a bluer light, closer to daylight) and you could choose between clear or frosted bulbs. I prefer doing my makeup in a daylight light setting, so I went for the upgrade. I chose the frosted bulbs, in hope that it’d be sort of like a diffuser for the light. For a while, I thought about getting my own light bulbs instead of paying them $70. I learned very quickly that 1) Impressions doesn’t really tell you the specs of the lights, 2) It’s HARD to find bulbs that match the specs of the impressions bulbs, and 3) LED light bulbs are expensive. (The specs of the light bulbs are in the video!! You’ll need those if you want to buy your own bulbs!)

The other upgrade option is to add bluetooth capabilities. The mirror would have a speaker at the top corner of each side and connect to whatever bluetooth capable device you own. You can use it for music, phone calls, etc. There’s also a function to show you the weather on the little LED screen at the bottom center of the mirror, where all of the controls are. I ended up deciding against that upgrade. I didn’t feel like it was worth the price. I watched some videos online and read reviews and they just weren’t impressive. They sounded similar to computer speakers, one girl had hers deliver with only one speaker working, and the touch screen on a few videos wasn’t as responsive as I’d like. Just one more thing that could be broken, and I was NOT trying to have to send this thing back!!!

Price

Like I said. They. are. PRICEY! Luckily for me, I just so happened to look on the Impressions website during November and saw their Black Friday sale! They had a sale the entire month of November, and it was a game CHANGER! Between that and the coupon code from Shameless Maya (code: shamelessmaya for 10% off), I got a little over 33% off. That discount was great, but whew, it was still pricey! Haha

Delivery

From placing my order to delivery was a little under two weeks. It seemed like forever because I was super thirsty for it to get there! I’m sure order volume was higher than normal with the Black Friday sale going on, so I can’t say that all order processing time would be this long, but that was just my experience. My mirror weighs 70lbs. The mirror has to be signed for by someone at your address, so keep that in mind when ordering. The FedEx guy brought the mirror to my porch and walked away. I asked if he could actually bring it in the house, but apparently FedEx isn’t allowed to take it anywhere further than right outside the door. Go figure. Luckily for me, my dad was able to help me get it in and up the stairs. I don’t know what I would have done if I had to do that on my own. Definitely have somebody nearby to help! It’s such a huge cumbersome box, and after spending that much money, the last thing you want to do is break it before you even get it set up!!!

All in all, I’m VERY happy with this purchase!!! Yes, it was expensive, but the quality is great and the lights are BRIGHT! I was worried about the lights not being bright enough, but let me tell you… they are! The lights are dimmable, and I almost never have mine on 100%. It’s a bit much in the space that I have. There is a slight humming that comes from the lights, so you may take that into consideration if you plan to use this while recording or anything like that. It was obviously on while we recorded this video, so I guess you can use that as a gauge. I hope this review was helpful!
